Keys to organized kitchen cabinets
Plan out your areas one section at a time. Assemble the items that need to be stored together in that area. Before installing any space saving items make sure that what you have in mind will fit such as (if you install cup hooks will it be too cramped to still fit plates etc.). Make sure that your idea is a workable solution not one that will cause you more grief.
Organize Kitchen Cabinets
- Build your kitchen cabinets to the ceiling. The higher the more items you can store.
- When deciding where to store items in the kitchen cabinet you should take into consideration how often you will be using the items. Floor kitchen cabinets should be used for larger less used items while upper cabinets should be used for dishes and cups that would be used more frequently.
- Make good use of half shelving. Divide some of the larger shelves into smaller shelves. This will help you maximize spacing.
- Label your shelves that store canned goods and alphabetize them. This makes restocking very easy. It seems tedious but it is well worth it as you will only have to do it once.
- Sliding shelves can be a simple way to make your harder to find items more accessible.
- Store bakeware by usage.
- Use wire coated racks to hang dishes, bowls and the like.
- Hang hooks under shelves underneath kitchen cabinets to hang cups out of the way.
- Use stackable glasses and plates for easy storage.
- The back of kitchen cabinets offer a great way to use what would be wasted space. You could use plastic coated racks, hooks and shelves etc. There are also special organizers that you can use to store foil, wax paper, plastic wrap and other items here as well.
- Add a special storage space under the sink for storing sponges, detergent, scouring pads, rubber gloves etc. This will really help you while you are cleaning up the kitchen cabinets. Inside the other kitchen cabinet you should place a trash can with removable liners or a special kitchen cabinet that can be used to store recyclables.
- Utilize awkward corner cabinets by installing a spinning caddy which can be used for storing very small items.
Customize your kitchen cabinets and use them efficiently. The most important key to organize your kitchen cabinets is efficiency. Keep everything that is similar together. Keep all items that you use more frequently closer to you in easy to reach places and those that you use less frequently farther away in harder to reach places. Be innovative and think outside of the Kitchen Cabinet
